My work begins with observation.

Through hiking, travel, sketchbooks, and daily walks, I collect what I think of as field notes for an unfinished landscape.

 

Fragments of color, shifting horizons, weathered surfaces, botanical forms, and traces of human presence inform my imagery. These quiet observations become the visual vocabulary for ceramic wall pieces and sculptural vessels that blur the boundaries between drawing, painting, and sculpture.

Working primarily in clay, I build layered surfaces through hand-building, printmaking, carving, underglaze, slips, and glaze. Each piece accumulates marks over time, revealing histories that feel at once geological, archaeological, and deeply personal. Rather than depicting a specific place, the work explores memory, ecology, and our evolving relationship with the landscapes we inhabit.

Alongside my studio practice, I teach ceramics and surface design through workshops, sharing a process rooted in curiosity, experimentation, and careful attention to the world around us.
