Wall Drawings

Image and mark-making compels us to tell and relay stories. The narratives that connect us to the banal, everyday; and the lingering, lurking unknowns are conjured and created within us as we move through our realities. Through the association of ceramic tablet as artifact, this body of work attempts to draw in the viewer with traditional form and method. Once the form has been explored, the lexicon of imagery invites personal insight to overarching historical and social issues. How each one of us relates to the pieces contributes to the Gestalt, or the overall meaning of all experience. The lexicon may include wings, eggs, hanging laundry, guns, math formulas and continues onto the ceramic wall pieces; carefully balanced with colorful surfaces. The titles suggest further consideration of social and even psychological wellness.
